Contains options for managing files and scenes.
Creates an empty scene
Opens an existing scene
Open autosave file
Opens an autosave file
Saves the currently open scene
Saves the currently open scene under a different name
Save as new version
Allows you to save the current scene using either an old (.csc) or a new (.casc) file format. Used for migrating scenes between versions.
The list of the recently used scenes
This is the set of options for importing 3d models and animations into the scenes.
Adds animation to the model(s) in the scene
Animation to selected frames
Same as above, but animation is only added to the currently selected frames
Animation to selected objects
Same as Animation, but the animation is only applied to the selected set(s) of joints
Adds missing parts of the 3d model to the scene.
If the model you import has joints and meshes not present in the scene, these joints and meshes are added to the scene while others are ignored (as there’s no need to import them).
Add model to selected
Same as above, but only the selected set(s) of joints are taken into account.
This function always adds all elements of the 3d model to the scene.
Appends the entire 3d scene to the currently opened scene.
This is a set of options for exporting Cascadeur scenes to external 3d formats.
Exports only the joints and animation associated with them.
Exports the entire scene.
Scene - selected objects
Exports the currently selected parts of the scene.
This set of options imports additional entities into the scenes.
Appends a Cascadeur scene (.casc file) to the current scene.
Imports a character rig (saved as a JSON file).
Imports a set of prototype objects used for generating a rig (saved as a JSON file).
Prototype rig to selected
Same as above, but the prototype objects are only applied to the selected set(s) of joints.
Imports selection groups and applies them to the current scene.
The selection groups should be saved as a JSON file beforehand (using File → Export → Selection groups).
These options are used to export parts of the scene.
Renders the current scene as a video sequence. This feature is described here in greater detail.
Saves the selection groups present in the scene as a JSON file to be used in different scenes.
Makes some adjustments to the scene:
- Changes the object types in accordance with the behaviors associated with them.
- Adds is_exported, is_exported_to_animation and ignore_namespace settings to the objects (might be necessary for FBX export).
- Adds is_backgroud and is_transparent settings to the Mesh objects.
- Fixes camera by changing the FOV setting to work with degrees (instead of radians).
This option can be used for fixing outdated scenes to properly work with newer versions of the software. However, the recommended way of dealing with such scenes is to regenerate the rig from proto components.
