Improved Inbetweening
Added Style option for controlling the kind of motion (like walking or running) generated by the tool.
This option is available on the Scene Settings panel, under the Inbetweening tab:
Updated Inbetweening algorithm.
Now it produces much better results on the short intervals.
Tangents are now taken into consideration
This produces better transitions between key poses and overall smoother motion.
Added the Use Fulcrum Motion Cleaning option:
When this option is enabled, Fulcrum Motion Cleaning is automatically applied to the animation produced by Inbetweening.
This option is different from the regular Fulcrum Motion Cleaning in that it doesn’t change the keyframes.
The maximum length of the animation generated by Inbetwening has been increased to 120 frames.
Improved Trajectories
Viewport Tangent Manipulation (Beta)
Trajectory Edit Mode now supports manipulating Tangents in Viewport.
This option can be accessed by clicking the Tangents icon on the Toolbar:
After clicking it, you’ll see tangents attached to the trajectory keyframes, and will be able to edit them.
Tangents are available for Bezier-type interpolations; Linear and Step interpolations do not have them.
Edited tangents are shown by the red dots on the Timeline:
Such tangents can be reset by clicking this button:
Alternatively, you can right-click the tangent itself and select Reset tangent from the drop-down menu:
There is also the Link tangents option:
When it is enabled, moving one of the tangents attached to a keyframe would move the other along with it.
By disabling it, you can edit both tangents separately.
Direction Trajectories
This release also adds a new type of Trajectories: Direction Trajectories.
These trajectories can be enabled for all points that use direction data for interpolation:
Direction Trajectories can be enabled on the Toolbar panel, by clicking the same button that’s used to switch between Translation (i.e. regular) and Rotation trajectories.
Improved Fulcrums
Automatic Fulcrum Point Detection
Now, in most of the cases the algorithm detects Fulcrum Points by itself; there’s no need to manually set parameters for Point Controllers.
For customization, you can enforce the state of the Fulcrum Points by selecting points and changing Fulcrum state in object properties:
And for those who prefer using the old method it is possible to enable it by switching the Is Custom Logic Fulcrum Point parameter to the Off value (found in the Settings Window, under the Custom Logic Fulcrum Point tab):
Collision radius and Max speed values are still available in the Fulcrum point group of settings (on the Object Properties panel):
However, they are not taken into account in the new method.
Other Improvements
Fulcrum Motion Cleaning tool now also removes knee popping.
Added Use Only Keyframes option to the Fulcrum Motion Cleaning tool.
Improved Physics
All parts of the AutoPhysics tool are now enabled by default.
AutoPhysics now supports character interaction in ballistic motions.
Constraints
Improved Constraints UX
The process of creating and managing constraints is now much more straightforward.
Improved dialog for deleting Constraints.
Constraints are now enums.
Improved Video Mocap
Now, the tool automatically improves global positioning of the character and cleans foot sliding.
User Interface
Cascadeur now opens with the last used layout.
Added the Collapse All button to the Outliner.
Tooltip for hotkeys now updates after editing a hotkey.
You can now assign a hotkey to switch interpolation types.
Twin Machine now opens in a separate window.
Camera commands have been moved to a separate folder in the Commands menu.
Added a command to delete n-th keys to the Commands menu.
Custom tangent indication added to the Timeline.
AutoPosing controllers can now be edited in the Trajectory Edit Mode.
Swing and twist data are now measured in degrees (previously, they were in radians).
Added a button for auto-aligning the Timeline height.
Undo after changing a slider now triggers an update.
Added the Invert selection command.
Timeline scroll speed is now constant when using the mouse wheel.
Double-clicking a spine with Spline IK now correctly selects hands.
Support for 3DConnexion 3D Mouse
This device can now be used with Cascadeur.
Note
Currently, it is only supported in the Windows version.
Note
For it to work, you’ll need to install the drivers from 3DConnexion website.
