Sometimes you might need to remove a character from the scene.
To do this, you’ll need to delete the three parts that make the character: the rig, the mesh and the skeleton.
To delete the rig:
1. Select any part of the rig in the Outliner.
2. Select Delete Objects from the Commands menu (or press Del).

This will remove all objects included in the rig.
Note
When you delete the rig, animation data is deleted with it. This might affect the character’s pose.
If you want to keep the pose, you need either switch interpolation to Fixed, or create keyframes for every frame.
Note
Deleting the rig will also delete the AutoPosing objects.
Alternatively, you can right-click the Rig item and select Delete selected branches from the menu:

The mesh can be deleted the same way.
For the skeleton, the process is slightly different: first, you’ll need to select every part of it. The easiest way to do this is by selecting the top Joint in the Outliner and using Select branch:

Then, use either Commands → Delete or Delete selected branches to remove the skeleton.
Note
If you just select the top joint and use Delete of Delete selected branches, it won’t remove all joints - only the currently selected one.
