Cascadeur 2026.2: Animation Layers, Easing & New Languages

Cascadeur 2026.2 is now available. This release introduces Additive Animation Layers (in Alpha), one of the features most frequently requested by professional animators and studios. It also adds Easing controls for interpolation, Chinese, Japanese and Korean interface language packs, and improvements across AutoPosing, physics, AI tools and the Python API.

WHAT’S NEW IN CASCADEUR 2026.2?

  • ADDITIVE ANIMATION LAYERS (ALPHA) This new tool allows you to separate an object’s motion into several layers. Each layer stores its own animation data, and when several layers are enabled, their data is added together to form the complete animation. This is the first iteration of Animation Layers, with more functionality planned for future releases.
  • EASING FOR INTERPOLATION New Easing controls let you adjust how frames are distributed along an interpolated trajectory. This makes motion faster or slower within a selected interval without changing the shape of the trajectory.
  • CASCADEUR NOW SPEAKS MORE LANGUAGES Cascadeur’s interface is now available in Chinese, Japanese and Korean. You can switch languages directly from the top-right corner of the application. Further language packs will follow in future releases.
  • AUTOPOSING UPDATES Hands and feet now adjust correctly to the surrounding environment, making it easier to pose characters in contact with scene geometry. AutoPosing for quadrupeds has also been improved.
  • BETTER AI AND PHYSICS RESULTS Inbetweening and Motion Generation, formerly called Root Motion, have been trained on larger datasets for better output. Collision Penetration Cleaning now takes fulcrums into account and is included by default in AutoPhysics passes involving the ground or kinematic colliders.
  • PYTHON AND PIPELINE UPDATES Developers can now create custom interface elements using PySide/QML. New Python Stub files also provide IntelliSense support for Cascadeur’s Python API modules.
  • MORE WORKFLOW IMPROVEMENTS Cascadeur 2026.2 also adds BVH animation import, support for multiple materials on a single mesh, new camera exposure controls, improved Rigging Tools performance and a range of interface and workflow updates.
