What objects make up an animation character

Characters for animation consist of a set of interlinked objects.

Meshes are the character’s surface.

Joints are the character’s skeleton.

Each joint is linked to specific parts of the mesh through skinning. This is why when a joint moves, corresponding parts of the mesh are deformed.

Usually you don't control the joints directly when creating an animation, but use special rig controllers.
Rig controllers allow the animator to conveniently control the position of the joints.
Each animation program has its own system of rig controllers

Features of the Rig Controllers in Cascadeur

In Cascadeur, the Rig controllers are available in several types at once: points and boxes.

Also, the characters in Cascadeur have a special physical skeleton. It consists of rigid bodies. Each rigid body has a certain weight and size.

All elements of the rig controllers are connected to each other in chains and can affect each other.
